Synektik Group to market da Vinci systems in the Baltic States

The Synektik Group announced today that it will extend its collaboration with Intuitive Surgical to market the da Vinci Surgical System in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Synektik intends to start operations in the Baltics in beginning of 2025.

According to the concluded agreement, as part of extending distribution activities into the Baltic States, the Synektik Group will be responsible for the sale and maintenance of da Vinci Systems, instruments for these devices, the training of system operators, regulatory matters and marketing in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The scope of the Group’s responsibility will be the same as on the Polish and on the Czech and Slovakian markets where Synektik has been the exclusive distributor of da Vinci Systems since 2018 and 2022, respectively.

Extending the geographic scope of the distribution agreement to include the Baltic States forms the next stage of the strategic cooperation between the Synektik Group and Intuitive from our vantage point. We highly regard the potential offered by the markets of the Baltic States in terms of the economic prospects they offer, their openness to innovation and medical care. We believe that the advantages offered by Intuitive’s products coupled with our experience in effectively promoting innovative medical solutions will translate into Baltic States”, remarks Cezary Kozanecki, founder and President of the Management Board of Synektik.

For many years the Synektik Group has maintained a presence on the Baltic markets as a supplier of radiopharmaceuticals and recently as a distributor of medical equipment. “As we have had products dedicated for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia for several months we are preparing for the next step of the Group’s expansion into new markets. We are in the course of assembling an international team of experts in commercialization, education and technical support for da Vinci products”, adds Cezary Kozanecki.

The CEO of the public company emphasizes that the relatively high per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of these countries (similar to Poland’s), the level of expenditures for health care (constituting a higher share of GDP than in Poland) and access to EU funds speak to the potential offered by the Baltic markets. “Based on our current contacts with the representatives of the health service from the Baltic States among others, we are fully justified in thinking that the da Vinci technology will enjoy an enthusiastic reception from the health protection sectors in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and, most importantly, from patients in these countries”, adds Kozanecki.
