Synektik, a provider of advanced medical solutions – including innovative medical devices and IT technologies – will deliver and implement the cutting-edge da Vinci SP (Single Port) surgical system at Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic). The value of the order, which includes supply and installation of the system, amounts to up to EUR 3,4 million.
Synektik Group, the exclusive distributor of da Vinci robotic surgery systems in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, has signed an agreement with Krajská zdravotní a.s. covering the installation and commissioning of the da Vinci SP system, staff training, as well as comprehensive service support and instrument supply. The system is expected to be delivered to Masaryk Hospital by October this year. The value of the contracts, excluding the supply of consumable accessories (which will be settled on an ongoing basis), is at least EUR 3.4 million
“The da Vinci SP represents another milestone in the development of robotic surgery, and Synektik Group is the first authorized European distributor of this innovative system. We are pleased to see growing interest in this solution among medical centers in Central Europe and are confident that the successful implementation of the da Vinci SP at Masaryk Hospital will further accelerate adoption of this technology,” said Cezary Kozanecki, CEO of Synektik S.A.
The da Vinci SP is the first single-port robotic system in the da Vinci family, designed specifically for procedures performed through a single access point. Unlike multiport systems, the da Vinci SP can operate in extremely confined spaces, enabling highly precise procedures with minimal invasion of the patient’s body. The system requires only one incision, 2.5 cm in diameter, through which all instruments and the 3D camera are introduced. This represents a breakthrough in minimally invasive surgery, opening new treatment possibilities for cases with limited access.
The technology has a broad range of applications: in urology (e.g., prostatectomy, cystectomy, pyeloplasty), gynecology (hysterectomy, myomectomy), and ENT (procedures performed via the oral cavity as part of TORS). It also supports general surgery (e.g., pancreas-sparing splenectomy, colorectal surgery) and thoracic surgery (e.g., mediastinal tumor resections, thymectomy, selected lobectomies).
The da Vinci SP is gaining increasing popularity worldwide. In 2024, the number of systems in use grew by over 50%, reaching more than 270 installations. Last year, over 30,000 procedures were performed with da Vinci SP – a 72% increase year on year. The Single Port system obtained its first approvals in the US and South Korea in 2019, in Japan in 2022, and in 2024 in the European Union and Australia. In Poland, the da Vinci SP was officially introduced in June during the 55th Scientific Congress of the Polish Urological Association in Łódź.
Synektik Group is a leading provider of innovative medical technologies in Central Europe, particularly in the field of robotics. The company is consistently building a comprehensive portfolio, creating a coherent ecosystem of solutions to support hospitals – from diagnostics (including isotope tracers, the Ion™ system, mammography and biopsy devices, imaging and interventional diagnostic systems, and AI-powered applications for image analysis), through treatment (robots for minimally invasive surgery and microsurgery, radiosurgery systems for the head area, radiation therapy solutions, focused ultrasound technology for tremor treatment), to hospital operations (automation and robotization of pharmacies). The Group also develops its own IT systems such as PCS and the Zbadani.pl platform, as well as artificial intelligence algorithms supporting medical specialists and radiation monitoring applications for diagnostic imaging. As a result, the Group provides state-of-the-art technologies available on the global market and acts as a technology partner supporting both precision medicine and efficient clinical process management.
