Intuitive Surgical, the manufacturer of da Vinci Surgical System have named Synektik their „Distributor of the Year”.
From among 22 worldwide distributors, there were five companies that made it into the final and Synektik was then announced as the overall winner. Synektik has been an exclusive distributor of da Vinci Surgical System in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia since 2018 and has already won awards from Intuitive Surgical twice before. However, this was the first time that Synektik had been honoured with the title of the „Distributor of the Year”.
So far, around the world there have already been over 14 Million operations conducted using da Vinchi, and just in 2023 the number of surgical procedures reached over 2.2 Million. Altogether, in 2023 in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia there were over 14,000 procedures performed with the assistance of the authorized da Vinci Surgical System.
The most often performed surgeries are urological, gynaecological and general surgery procedures. Furthermore, da Vinci System is used in thoracic, head and neck surgery as well as in cardiology. In Poland since 2022 the costs of radical prostatectomy are being refunded, and since 2023 the Polish National Health Fund has been financing robotic surgical treatments of uterine lining cancer and colon cancer.
